Of these series The Jane Wyman Show enjoyed the greatest popularity and longevity lasting 3 Seasons in prime-time and enjoying an extended and profitable run in syndication.įrom its superior casts featuring well known stars as well as up and coming stars and eclectic source material to the accomplished scripts of Quinn Martin (The Untouchables, 1959-63), Aaron Spelling (The Mod Squad, 1968-73), Rod Serling (The Twilight Zone, 1959-64) and Gene Rodenberry (Star Trek, 1966-69) it is easy to recognize the quality of the productions presented on The Jane Wyman Show. From conception for her series Jane Wyman eschewed the elaborate gowns and dramatic entrances identified with her friend Loretta Young in favour of a subdued glamour and unadorned introductions more in keeping with her soft and sympathetic movie image. In New York City, Bayles performed with Stephen Schwartz and Norm Lewis in the industry reading of Children of Eden, playing the role of Adam.
